Amelia’s Compendium of Fashion Illustration is OUT NOW! I am so proud to be one of the 30 Fashion Illustrators featured in the book alongside the best new ethical fashion designers. The book offers inspiration to aspiring fashion designers and illustrators. As one of the featured illustrators we were each interviewed on our backgrounds before fashion illustration, inspirations, current work and future aspirations. I recently completed an internship at Matthew Williamson assisting with the print collections for Pre AW 11 and AW 11... The Autumn Winter 2011 collection is to be shown at London Fashion Week in under two weeks time!

Whitney Eve Spring 11 print collection

Whitney and I first met when I submitted a selection of my artworks to be her Twitter background, from here I went on to design prints for her Spring 11 collection! You can browse the collection in my work print section. I went on to design the presentation backdrop for the collection and was fortunate enough to go to the presentation at New York Fashion week in September 2010! The collection will be hitting stores worldwide and online very soon and I will be sure to give you all notice of this!

Millco Exhibition

Mill Co. First Annual Exhibition 2009

The amazing Mill Co. had their first annual exhibition on 13th – 19th May 2009. Their whole family of creative’s were invited to donate a piece for the exhibition based on the brief ‘community’. I designed 4 scarf designs for them with imagery based on paying homage to the North West Textile industry.

There was some amazing work at the exhibition and I feel privelaged to be a part of their community. They have lots of exciting work coming up some of which I am hoping to be involved in. INDIGO PARIS 2009

I wanted to update you all on my experience of having my own stand at Indigo Paris 2009 as part of Texprint 2009. It was an amazing week and all of my work went down really well and I had a very successful experience. Not only did I get to talk through my work with some amazing designers and creatives I also sold a lot to some amazing companies including: Victoria’s secret and New Look. Even without all of this I felt that the whole experience really made me understand how the Textile industry works. It was so useful being able to have the chance to look around other parts of the exhibition and to also see how other companies set up their own stands and sell their designs. It was very inspiring to look at so many varieties of work too!

As I won the Colour Prize here, the other winners and I were invited to The British Embassy to display our work once again.
I cannot stress enough that this was a truly amazing experience and one I will never forget. It made me very excited about the industry I am now working in.

Lisa Stannard announced the winner of the Texprint ‘COLOUR PRIZE’ 2009

During our first show at Texprint 2009 at The Chelsea College of Art, each designer was interviewed and considered for one of 7 different prizes which included: Breaking New Ground Prize, Colour Prize, Interior Fashion Prize, Knit Prize, Print Prize, Weave Prize
Judges included, Gies Deacon, Zandra Rhodes, John Tate head of Lyle & Scott, Grayson Perry, winner of The Turner Prize, Barbara Horspool, creative director of New Look, and Ronald Weisbrod, Weisbrod Zuerrer and The Swiss Textile Federation.
I won the colour prize donated by Pantone Europe and awarded by Barbara Horspool, creative director of New Look.
Barbara said this about my work:

“Lisa has a beautiful handwriting graphic wise and colour wise – what is amazing is her sensitivity on colour on something that is completely computer generated – it is extraordinary.”

My prize included a donation from Pantone Europe and the opportunity to go to Hong Kong to take part in Interstoff Asia. All I can say is that it was yet another amazing experience and opportunity for me. Please see my blog for more information about what happened in Hong Kong!
